The Kurukshetra University, commonly known as KUK University, was inaugurated in the year 1956 by Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian State. The University is situated at Haryana in India with a campus that covers approximately four hundred acres. The University lies at a distance of around hundred and sixty kilometers from Delhi. The institute of higher education is also an associate of the Commonwealth Universities Association. The university intends to promote cultural and traditional values of India. KUK UNI was a dream of Chandeshwar Prasad Narayan Singh who was also a big scholar of Sanskrit. When the university was established, it had only one department, The Sanskrit Dept.
