Rath Yatra 2010 is going at full flow with lakhs of Hindu devotees accompanying the divine chariots of Jagannath, Balabadhra and Subhadhra. This has led to a stampede at the Puri Jagannath Yatra resulting in the death of a female devotee. Few others were injured.
Bijay Laxmi, a 65 year old local fell down during the pulling of the holy chariots. She couldn’t get up and she was seriously injured. Along with her, three other people were injured. Officials nearby rushed her to the hospital, but that didn’t help either.Ratha Yatra 2010 started this morning with the ‘Mangal Aarti’ and now the chariots on the way to reach the Gundicha temple. Once in year, the holy deities of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadhra and Subadhra will be brought out.
